... Bringing home the flag...

For the first time in the history of BHC a flag returned with a team and it is not related to the march past.

The beginning of the weekend started on Saturday morning with a very uninspiring march past which seemed a little less organised then last year. Were it not for a team of blokes dressed in skimpy dresses and the winners who were all decked out as a criket team, you might have thought it was a prison yard exercise session.

We played four games on Saturday and at the end of the day finished with a clean slate of wins. Our first game however was against a Chinese Taipei Primary School team who we beat 12 – 1 so we weren’t too inspired by that win.

Day two started with half the team coming straight from a big night out, we were a bit concerned as normally we had more hang overs than that to start with. The legs were all a bit stiff but we seemed to warm into the day ahead and for some food and fluids (not alcohol) started to get into the system. We also finished the second day with a clean sweep and as with the whole weekend we spent a lot of time chasing around the event organisers trying to find out what changes were happening to times and draws.

Our final was against ‘Go Nads’ which proved to be a very fast game with a little bit of heated exchange shortly before the end. Final score 7 – 0.

The team consisted of:
Coach/ Captain/ Star Right Winger – Rob Thompson
Keeper – Graeme Lyle
Brendan Ford, Adrian Ford, Grant Whaley, Mark Swain, Charlie Swain, Dave Hearne, Russell Lennie, Danny Kneebone, Matt Camm – Guest Stars Rob Whaley and Mark Ford – Bench Warmer John Lukies

Special thanks to our numerous supporters.

Back to back next year???
