Hockey FAQ

Stick Length

A highly personal choice in adults, however a basic rule for juniors into adulthood is to use a hockey stick that is level with your hip.

Senior players should try before purchasing expensive sticks, and ensure you are not hitting the ground or topping the ball due to inaccurate stick length. An inaccurate stick length can lead to back strain and should be avoided. Do not buy Hockey sticks online just because they're cheap - it's best to shop around and try before you buy.

Stick Construction

There are many variations ranging from inexpensive wood sticks to very expensive composite sticks. Again, try before you buy, and purchase something that suits your style. A $500 stick won't make you a better player over night, and if used incorrectly, also tend to wear down quicker than mid range fiberglass based sticks.

Metal sticks are banned from play.
