Equipped with an ever-increasing membership base, the Brunswick Hockey Club is fast becoming one of Victoria's (Australia) fastest growing and dynamic club of its kind.

Since it's creation in 1923, Brunswick has maintained high standards not only across hockey fields in this state, but also off the field where our committees have proven to be innovative, creative and forward thinking.

Even after enduring some lean times, Brunswick has still managed to pick itself up where other clubs have fallen by the wayside.

After surviving a failed move away from its heartland in the early 1990s Brunswick has once again bounced back and is on its way to becoming a power in Victorian hockey.

Over the last few years Brunswick has developed initiatives that will be beneficial to the club's longevity and competitiveness in the Victorian Hockey Association.

The Brunswick Schools Cup was established as an annual hockey competition involving local primary schools. The inaugural Cup was deemed a huge success and it looks set to be a permanent fixture in the club's calendar.

Other such recent innovations include the Junior Development Squad (JDS), established to make the transition from junior to senior hockey as seamless as possible for our best young talents, and the formation of a Grounds Committee that is currently doing its utmost to ensure Brunswick gains its own Synthetic pitch.

This year Brunswick is fielding seven Mens teams, three Ladies teams, five Veterans teams and eight Junior teams. That's an outstanding achievement and is one of the most successful years in recent history.

We cater to the needs of hockey players great or small, young or old, and of varying abilities. We realise most people join a sporting club not only as a release from everyday stresses and to keep fit, but also to be entertained.

That's why Brunswick has a buzzing social scene, with regular functions being held at our Wylie Park clubrooms and several other night spots in the surrounding areas.

At present we have one of our very best committees in place, our committee is devoted to improving all aspects of the club and continuing to steer Brunswick in the right direction.

With some extraordinary junior talents coming through the ranks and many loyal and focused members, the Brunswick Hockey Club is only at the beginning of what may prove to be the most exciting and prosperous period in our 80-year history.
